A WOMAN has splashed £250,000 to transform her rundown three-bedtoom home into a luxurious five-bedroom pad with two extensions.

Katy Wilson, 36, spent years planning the incredible overhaul - and included two en-suites, an office and a roof terrace.

She is encouraging more people to renovate their properties themselves, saying it can make you save money and can be satisfactory too.

Katy added: "It isn't as scary as you think."

The homeowner estimates the cost of the project, as well as landscaping the garden, was £250,000 - but said it was all worth it.
