DOZENS of Scouts were among 57 passengers who had a lucky escape from a coach that burst into flames.
The Cubs and Beavers were on a day trip when it pulled over on the A31 near Stoney Cross, Hants, and caught fire.
Everyone on board evacuated safely but the coach was gutted.
Staff from a nearby Travelodge and Little Chef rushed to the scene to help, and fire crews arrived within minutes.
Scouting assistant district commissioner Julie Spiller was on board with her pack from Chandler’s Ford when the fire started.
She said: “All the people, all the kids are safe.”
The Scouts were on a visit to Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour, Dorset.
A fire brigade spokesman said the Wheelers coach was “well alight” when the emergency services arrived.
