Three in four black Brits ‘don’t believe they have the same human rights as white people’
THREE-quarters of black people do not believe they have the same human rights as white people, a Commons’ poll has found.
Parliament’s Joint Committee on Human Rights has published its research ahead of a hearing on the issue today.
The majority of respondents (85%) also did not believe that as a black person they would be treated the same by the police as a white person.
The survey, which saw 515 black people aged over 16 provide answers, was conducted between July 29 and August 12.

The majority, 61% of respondents, were from the Greater London area, said pollster ClearView Research.
A total of 3% were from Wales, 1% from Scotland and none were from Northern Ireland
It followed a series of Black Lives Matter protests sparked by the May 25 killing of George Floyd, a black man in Minnesota, US.
