Colin Firth’s Mr Darcy perfectly recreated in impressive 6ft sponge cake for Pride And Prejudice anniversary
COLIN Firth’s portrayal of Mr Darcy has risen again — in the form of a 6ft sponge cake.
It was baked by Michelle Wibowo to celebrate 25 years of the BBC’s Pride And Prejudice mini-series and was unveiled at Lyme Park, Cheshire, used in the TV adaptation.
Michelle said she "couldn't be happier" with the results.
She added: "What better reason than the 25th anniversary of the series of Pride And Prejudice to create a birthday cake to celebrate."
The life-sized treat took cake artist Michelle more than 200 hours to make.
She started by sketching a model based on the 1995 TV adaptation, before starting on the baking.
The huge cake contains 20kg of flour, 20kg of butter and 45kg of sugar.
Michelle said: "I've created cakes of everyone from the Queen to Beyonce, but Mr Darcy officially tops the list as the most delicious model I've ever made.
"I hope his legions of fans will approve!"
