London flat with washing machine, kitchen and toilet UNDER the bed for £754 per month is slammed as ‘worse than prison’

A STUDIO flat with a washing machine, kitchen and toilet UNDER the bed has gone on the market for £754 a month - and some say it looks worse than a prison cell.

Agents for the north London apartment boast of a 'mezzanine sleeping area' - leading incredulous Twitter users to find the funny side.

But the studio has divided Twitter users, with many calling the room little better than a prison cell - while others believe it's a good use of space. Image: Zoopla

The flat features a kitchenette, shower, toilet, washing machine, sofa and bed - all in one small room.

In order to save space, many key features have been fitted below the bed, which stands several feet above the floor.

The new occupier will need to get into the bunk each day via a ladder.

But the tiny room comes with a hefty price tag - as it lies 'moments' from Mornington Crescent Station.

It's also close to a number of desirable areas, including Camden Market and St Pancras Station, where Eurostar trains to Paris depart.

The cost of the flat doesn't include bills, with Zoopla estimating the total monthly running of the flat will be £831.

Social media users reacted with shock after the listing went viral on Twitter, with some comparing the tiny flat to a "prison".

Others have hailed the "clever use of space".

One joked: "This must be some kind of human rights violation", while another said: "This is the type of thing I would build in Minecraft."

A third went further, arguing: "This looks like a Sims flat."

One user said: "Some prisons are more accommodating than this... and £754 cheaper."

Earlier this summer, a tiny studio flat with a shower and sink next to the bed went on sale for £200,000.

The property - in Notting Hill, London - has little more than a single bed, a hob and a shower inside.

Elsewhere in London, a property narrower than a bus went on sale in July for a whopping £700,000.

Another pricey - but tiny - flat has drawn lots of attention from viewers.

The property may not look like much for £795 a month - but it boasts incredibly views over Shenley Cricket Centre in Hertfordshire.
