Who is Ann Coulter?

Born on December 8, 1961, Ann Coulter lives between Los Angeles and New York City.

Coulter is a right-wing media pundit with more than 2.1 million X followers.

She is also an author with 13 best-selling political books

Coulter endorsed Donald Trump in the 2016 Republican Party presidential primaries but has since turned on the president.

She pushed for Trump's impeachment and criticized his immigration politics as well as the lack of progress on his promised border wall.

Why is Ann Coulter Trending?

In August 2024, Coulter was trending on X once more after she commented on Gus Walz.

The seventeen-year-old was photographed in a flood of tears as he cheered for his father, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, at the Democratic National Convention.

The political pundit shared an article about the teen’s emotional reaction and wrote “Talk about weird…” above it.

She then swiftly removed the social media post amid an onslaught of criticism.

It comes after the Walz family shared Gus’s conditions with People Magazine as a "non-verbal learning disorder in addition to an anxiety disorder and ADHD".

Coulter posted: "I took it down as soon as someone told me he’s austistc, but it’s Democrats who go around calling everyone weird thinking it’s hilariously funny."

What has Ann Coulter gone viral for before?

Coulter is no stranger to voicing her opinion online.

In an interview on Andrew Sullivan's Dishcast on November 5, 2021, Ann Coulter yet again voiced her opinions on the former president.

She referred to Trump as stupid and narcissistic.

She said: "I was well familiar with what a narcissistic, ridiculous, tacky, vulgar, arriviste this guy was..

"That I knew about. The one thing I underestimated, in fact, did not see at all is, I had no idea how abjectly stupid the man is."

Her comments came following an explanation on why she originally was supported Trump.

At first, she agreed with his immigration policy, as well as his pledge to build a wall bordering Mexico.

But over the years, Coulter's initial support of Trump quickly turned to contempt.

She even praised Joe Biden for withdrawing US military troops from Afghanistan.

In August 2021, she complimented the president on "keeping a promise Trump made, but then abandoned when he got to office".

This isn't the first time Coulter has trashed Trump.

In May 2020, she referred to the former president as "the most disloyal actual r****d that has ever set foot in the Oval Office".

Coulter was also a supporter of Kyle Rittenhouse, with the pundit weighing in on the matter on X.

Coulter quote-tweeted a post by Anntensity that read: “I want Kyle Rittenhouse as my bodyguard.”

Coulter added her own comment in the since-deleted tweet, stating: “I want him as my president.”

X removed Coulter’s tweet for violating its rules.

Coulter also criticized the Kenosha protests and blamed liberals for violence on the streets.

Kyle Rittenhouse was captured on video during the attack on the third night of unrest over a white Kenosha police officer shooting black civilian Jacob Blake

The video showed Rittenhouse holding a semi-automatic rifle and he appeared to say he “just killed somebody” while running from a man who was fatally shot in the head.

In social media posts, Rittenhouse appeared to be a strong supporter of Trump.
