Police searching for missing boy after woman is stabbed in sleepy Yorkshire village
Public warned not to approach 16-year-old after this morning's knife attack
ARMED cops are hunting for a teenager after a middle-aged woman was stabbed at a home in a sleepy Yorkshire village.
Connor Woodrow, 16, is wanted by officers after the horrific assault in Carlton, North Yorks, at roughly 11am today.
The woman in her 40s is being treated for her injuries in hospital.
Specialist Units and seven police cars were at the scene as searches were carried out in the area.
A police chopper has also been flying overhead as the hunt for Connor continues.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "A thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the event is underway.
"If Connor is listening to or sees this appeal he is asked to surrender to the police."
Around ten police officers were scouring the neighbourhood while two heavily armed cops stood guard."
A neighbour, a female in her 50s, who lives in an adjacent cul-de-sac said: "I don't know what's gone on.
"I've been on Facebook and someone's saying a woman's been taken to hospital.
Adding: "Someone told me it's been a stabbing (sic)."
Officers would not allow any residents into their homes in Manor Farm Close and was collected belongings on their behalf.
Anyone who has seen Connor is urged not to approach him and call 999 immediately.
