Detached 1-bed flat looks rather pokey – but it has incredible cricket ground views
THIS detached one-bed flat may not look much for £795 a month – but wait until you see its unique location and the incredible views.
A cricket ground is listing their score box as a “very unusual” home to rent even though inside it may not look up to much.
The detached property, at Shenley Cricket Centre in Hertfordshire, is listed as coming with a combined lounge and kitchenette, one bedroom and a bathroom.
The bizarre but self-declared “must see” home is apparently available to rent for £795 per month, with a £917 deposit.
However, pets are unfortunately banned - presumably since so many balls may prove too tempting in the surrounding location.
The property though commands stunning views as it overlooks the large cricket field and will be ready to move into in October, just as the season ends.
At less than six metres by three metres, the compact home also boasts that it comes with a microwave, stainless steel bowl with tap and an electric hob.
The listing reads: "A VERY unusual, DETACHED one bedroom house built within the 'Score Box' of Shenley Cricket Centre.
"With expansive views around this is a MUST SEE property. A compulsory £100 pcm is required to cover heating, lighting, water rates and council tax. No Pets. Available October!"
According to the advert, the kitchenette and lounge comes with a wooden laminated floor and the bedroom and bathroom have skylights to lighten up the compact rooms.
Believed to be owned by cricketer Glucka Wijesuriya, the property overlooks the grounds of the London Shenley Club, a wedding venue and private event centre, which also offers corporate cricket.
The ground, which is believed to have first been established in 19th century, is based in the heart of Shenley, a small village in the Hertfordshire countryside.
Estate agents Barkers and Shenley Cricket Club were contacted for comment.
