Tot slashes leg on broken glass ‘left deliberately’ on children’s slide
Toddler rushed to hospital after sliding over smashed bottle
A BLOODSTAINED tot was rushed to hospital after slashing her leg on glass thought to have been deliberately left on a play park slide.
Amy Smith's two-year-old toddler Demi-Mai was playing on a slide in Kitson Park, Torquay on Sunday when she slid over a broken bottle.
It is thought the glass was smashed and left on the slide on purpose.
Demi-Mai needed treatment for the wound to her leg at nearby Torbay Hospital.
“I'm really angry that someone would do that in a children's play park," Amy said.
“I was so proud of Demi as she had just learnt to climb up the rope that leads up to the slide.

“I helped her up a bit and then she went down the slide.
“As she reached the bottom she hit the glass which cut her leg."
Torbay Council's Natural Environment Services have since cleared up all the glass from the slide.
“The hospital cleaned up Demi's wound and luckily she didn't need any stitches," added Amy.
“She found the cut to be very sore and is still struggling to walk."
Amy hopes her story will raise awareness of the dangers that public parks can pose for children.
