Albanian ‘killer’ suspected of murdering OAP couple goes on run after stabbing
Peter Stuart was stabbed to death and his wife Sylvia has been missing for five days as police hunt for clues in suspects' flats
AN Albanian migrant is wanted for the murder of an OAP and suspected murder of the victim’s missing wife.
Ali Qazimaj, 42, is on the run after Peter Stuart, 75, was stabbed to death and wife Sylvia, 69, vanished.
The couple’s son-in-law Steve Paxman, 61, remained in police custody yesterday as hopes that Sylvia is alive were described as “remote”.
Cops admitted there was only “a glimmer of hope” she could be in the hands of Qazimaj, who met Paxman when dating his stepmum.
There are fears Qazimaj has fled to France, with the intention of making his way back to Albania.
Peter’s body was found in woodland 50ft from his home in Weybread, Suffolk, on Friday.
He and Sylvia had been reported missing that day.
Qazimaj’s silver Citroen C3 was found abandoned just 100 feet from the ferry port at Dover, Kent.
Residents said it was there two days, raising the suspicion he had crossed to France.
Work pals said the takeaway driver, of Grays, Essex, where the Stuarts used to live, begged them for help selling furniture from his flat on Friday because he needed money and was going to Albania.
They warned that the dad, adopted by a Brit family during wars in the Balkans, had boasted of “underworld” links with gangsters and had an “explosive temper”.
