Prince Andrew’s Twitter account quietly ditched from Royal website after Virginia Roberts’ bombshell claims

PRINCE Andrew’s Twitter account has vanished from the official Royal website after shock claims he bedded one of Jeffrey Epstein's "sex slaves".

The Duke of York has also been under renewed pressure in recent weeks following the arrest of former friend Ghislaine Maxwell for alleged child sex abuse and grooming.

It is not known when the links to the Duke's Twitter feed were taken down and the Sun Online has contacted Buckingham Palace for comment.

However, connections to @TheRoyalFamily (the Queen), @ClarenceHouse (Charles and Camilla) and @KensingtonRoyal (William and Kate) are still up and running on www.royal.co.uk.

The links to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex social media sites also appear to have been quietly removed.

The news comes as Prince Andrew's accuser Virginia Roberts branded him an abuser and “not the prince from the fairytales”.

She spoke out in documentary series 'Surviving Jeffrey Epstein' which aired in the US last night.

Ms Roberts claimed: “I am happy to talk about him because he abused me, he participated in a sexual trafficking operation with one of the most prolific sex trafficking operators in the world the entire time.

“Prince Andrew is not the prince from the fairytale stories you read, Andrew deserves to be outed, he deserves to be held accountable, he is an abuser.”

Ms Roberts, now 36, claims he had sex with her three times when she was 17.

The prince, 60, has vehemently denied the claims against him.

It has already been claimed the prince could retire from royal life permanently over his "toxic" relationship with paedo pal Epstein.

The Queen reportedly "can't see a way back" for her "favourite" son and the royal family have "no plans" to review his position.

Andrew stepped back from public life last year for the "forseeable future" after his car-crash BBC Newsnight interview about his friendship with Epstein.

He was forced to quit as a frontline royal last year and gave up the bulk of his charity committments after many patronages severed ties with him after the broadcast.

During the interview, Andrew suggested that a photograph showing him and Ms Roberts together in the home of Maxwell was faked.

He said he had “no recollection” of meeting Ms Roberts Giuffre and claimed he was at a Pizza Express in Woking on one of the days they were meant to have had sex.

When asked whether he regretted continuing his friendship with Epstein, the prince said: “Do I regret the fact that he has quite obviously conducted himself in a manner unbecoming? Yes.”

The FBI have reached out to Andrew for an interview but he claims he was prepared in November to assist US officials.

Last month it was reported Prince Andrew's official website was quietly taken down with visitors now automatically redirected to the Royal Family's main site. 

The Duke of York's Twitter and Instagram accounts remain active, however no posts have been shared since he stepped back from his public duties in November 2019.
