Simpson ‘could finally ADMIT to double murder’: Friend claims ex-NFL star could own up to 1994 slayings
Notorious sports star 'in torment', claims close pal
OJ Simpson could admit murdering ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, it was claimed.
Pal Ron Shipp said the ex-American football star, now in jail for an armed robbery, may confess on his release next year.
OJ, 68, was sensationally cleared of the killings in 1995.
But Mr Shipp said: "The guy is in total torment.
"OJ always felt his appearance meant everything, now he is starting to live with himself."
Former LAPD officer Shipp made the comments to the New York Daily News at the premier of new documentary O.J. Simpson: Made in America.
He revealed OJ is at his lowest ebb and has ballooned to 21 stone in weight while in prison.
He said the sportstar, known in his hey-day as 'The Juice', will tell all when he gets out from the Nevada jail where he will stay until at least 2017 on unrelated armed robbery convictions.
Simpson could avoid jail even if he does admit his crimes under double jeopardy laws which state you cannot be tried for the same crime twice.
Shipp added: "I hope one day he actually will rid us of all the doubt and all the conspiracy theories and say 'sorry I cannot go to prison, but I am sorry I did it'".

He raised eyebrows during OJ's trial by saying Simpson had confessed to him that he had dreamed about killing his wife Nicole Brown Simpson.
Simpson and former wife Nicole were married for seven years from February, 1985, five years after his retirement from professional football.
The couple had two children, Sydney Brooke Simpson, 30, and Justin Ryan Simpson, 28.
She and Goldman were found murdered outside of Nicole's LA apartment in June 1994.
OJ hired Robert Kardashian, dad of reality stars Kim and Kourtney, to the defence team which convinced a jury of his innocence.
