The 33-year-old posted photos on Instagram saying: "Eid Mubarak everyone! Spending Eid at home with family."

He shared pictures posing up with friends in traditional suits as they celebrated the key festival.

The proud dad smiled alongside his wife Faryal Makhdoom, 29, and their kids.

The Sun Online has contacted his representatives for comment.

Current rules in Greater Manchester ban two households from spending time in each other's homes, including the garden.

Anyone in a support bubble can still meet in each other's houses or gardens however.

It was confirmed Muslims wanting to pray at mosques throughout the celebrations could still do so, as long as they stuck to social distancing.

The sudden restrictions were announced late on Thursday night - the first full day of Eid al-Adha - and was likened to cancelling Christmas.

My heart goes out to the Muslim community. I know that this will have a particular impact on Eid celebrations.

It ruined plans made by many Muslim families to celebrate together, with the new rules coming into force at midnight.

Households in Greater Manchester, East Lancashire and West Yorkshire are all under the new restrictions.

The Health Secretary Matt Hancock admitted Muslims living in the area will have their celebrations affected.

He said: "My heart goes out to the Muslim community. I know that this will have a particular impact on Eid celebrations.

"We've been working with imams and religious leaders to ensure that Eid celebrations can go ahead in a covid-secure way in mosques and there are some really innovative proposals to celebrate in parks where social distancing is easier and there's more space.

"But it does mean, for everybody, meetings between households won't be possible and of course that has a particular impact when there's a celebration like Eid coming up for the Muslim community. "

Actor and presenter Adil Ray compared the move to cancelling Christmas, telling GMB: "It's like waking up on Christmas Day and realising that you cannot go to your family's Christmas dinner.

"You have to remember for the Muslim community, they are not going to go to pubs, that's not really their thing, the idea of having it at home is the core element."

Khan has already reportedly flouted lockdown rules earlier this year.

In May he met his family in Bolton for an emotional reunion, and also shared a video of a surprise party for his daughter.

Khan ignored government guidelines when he met his parents, siblings and cousins with his wife and three children to celebrate Eid al-Fitr.
