PUSH THE BLOAT OUT

The Sun dines out on Rishi Sunak’s ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ with three meals for under £10

THE Sun dined out on Dishy Rishi’s “Eat Out to Help Out” yesterday and got three decent meals for less than a tenner total.

Reporter Daniel Hammond joined punters at venues in Southend, Essex, to make the most of the deal.

He started in a Wetherspoon pub and snapped up a large full English breakfast and a cup of tea for £3.14.

The combination usually costs £6.28 — but the Chancellor’s scheme saw the prices at The Last Post halved.

Later, at a nearby McDonald’s, we bought a large Big Mac and chips meal — usually £4.89 — for just £2.45.

Next, our reporter tucked into an extra hot quarter chicken at Nando’s with a side of piri chips and rice for just £3.38.

Diners were asked to enter a code using a browser on their phone while ordering to enjoy up to £10 off per person.

After three meals, the total came to just £8.97.

The scheme will run every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday until August 31, giving the nation 12 more opportunities for a cut-price meal out.
