Keeping a clean head

Man rescued by firefighters after getting his head stuck in a washing machine

He had to be cut out of the drum after his attempt to make a repair went wrong

THIS man must have wanted a clean head after he got himself stuck in a washing machine.

Firefighters in southeast China's Fujian province went to his aid on Sunday when his attempt to fix the washer went wrong.

The video was posted on the Weibo social media account of Fuzhou City's Fire Department, and it showed the man's predicament as they tried to cut him out of the machine.

According to the Fire Department he got stuck inside the drum when he was trying to make a quick fix.

To make sure the unidentified man could breath while they tried to get him out, the drum was forcibly removed from the frame.

Making sure he didn't come to any harm as they carried out the rescue, they then carefully broke the drum up, while he was still stuck inside.

The man explained: "I managed to very successfully stuck my head into the machine, so I don't understand why I got stuck."

The Fire Department added he was in good shape and unharmed after they managed to get him out.

He had a physical check up and was cleared - the man even managed a smile after the had been removed.
Chinese firefighters have some practice of getting people out of tight spots.
In April they came to the aid of a three-year-old boy who had to be rescued when he got his head stuck in a car sunroof.
Last year they helped a woman who was trapped between two walls - she had been attempting to get something she had dropped.
