FRENCH terror cops have been in training ahead of Euro 2016 as they stage "blood soaked" terror drills outside one of the grounds.
A fake attack was carried out near the Stade de Lyon which will play host to one of the tournaments semi-finals.
The Euros kick off in less than two weeks and emergency services in the country are on a high alert to ensure the safety of fans from potential terror attacks.
Frighteningly realistic scenes saw 'spectators' being treated by paramedics as armed police stormed the ground.
The scenario was based on an attack which would see hundreds of fans killed or maimed in the attack and involved up to 1,000 volunteers.
The Stade de Lyon will place host to four group stage games as well as one semi final including Belgium vs Italy and Ukraine vs Northern Ireland.
Similar exercises are being carried out at most of the grounds being used during the tournament.
The news comes a day after The Sun reported that ISIS fanatics are plotting to use suicide bombers, guns and even drones carrying chemical weapons to attack Three Lions fans in Marseille when England play Russia at Euro 2016.
Police say data found on a laptop used by Salah Abdeslam, mastermind of the Paris and Brussels attacks, outlines a plan to target England supporters as they gather in the city for the June 11 clash.
It is feared followers of Abdeslam are determined to continue with his bomb plot despite his capture.
A senior Whitehall source said: “What they might attempt outside of the secure zones is what worries us most.
“Bars full of happy, drunk blokes are a very soft target.
“We are working extremely closely with the French.”
Photos and references to Marseille’s historic Old Port, where Three Lions fans will gather in two weeks’ time for England’s opening game, were found on a laptop following a raid on one of Abdeslam’s safe houses in Brussels.
The laptop also contained information suggesting a plot to kill large numbers of fans using AK47s, suicide bombers and possibly even drones armed with chemical weapons.
France and Romania will get the tournament going in Paris at the Stade de France on June 10.
