GET ME OUTTA FEAR

I’m A Celeb stars will have to quarantine for two weeks before entering the jungle due to Covid fears

SEEING a starving, fed-up telly star pining for their family on I’m A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here! is nothing new.

But those celebs brave enough to take on the jungle this year might find the homesickness is worse than ever before.

Show insiders tell me campmates might be required to quarantine for a fortnight before entering camp to limit the risk of a Covid outbreak.

If so, finalists would have to spend a total of five weeks away from their loved ones.

A telly source said: “I’m A Celeb is one of the toughest reality shows out there and adding a two-week quarantine period is only going to make it harder.

“The welfare of the campmates is the biggest concern, so having them possibly put in quarantine for a fortnight lessens the risk of anyone falling ill.

“They understand that for some people, the thought of maybe having to spend more than a month away from their families might be offputting.

“But in the grand scheme of things, having this two-week plan in place is one simple way of being able to ensure the health of those taking part — and the people working on the show.”

I can also reveal that reports about the show possibly taking place in Scotland are wide of the mark . . . by about 10,200 miles, in fact.

ITV chiefs are determined to continue making the show Down Under in Springbrook National Park. They currently have no plans to switch filming to these shores.

Singer Jessie J, footballer turned pundit Paul Merton and Tiger King’s Carole Baskin are among the big names invited to take part this year.

Dave to pitch in

THEY’VE had big-name musicians on the pitch before, including Robbie Williams, Olly Murs and McFly’s Danny Jones.

Now Soccer Aid bosses have a new megastar signed up to play.

Rapper Dave is ready to put on his boots for the charity match, which will be played – behind closed doors this time – in September.

An insider said of the Brit Award winner said: “Dave is a huge signing for Soccer Aid.

“He’s never played in it before because his schedule has always been packed. But now, like so many others in the industry, his diary’s cleared because of Covid.”

Earlier this month I revealed that Jason Manford would feature in the starting line-up for World XI.

The venue has yet to be confirmed but Manchester United’s 75,000-capacity Old Trafford ground is thought to be most likely.

Street's ex twist

PAULA WILCOX has revealed how her Corrie character Elaine is rejected by son Tim when she turns up to confront her evil ex, Geoff Metcalfe.

The actress had a brief stint on the Cobbles more than 50 years ago and is back in a new role for the abuse storyline between Geoff (Ian Bartholomew) and his wife Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King).

And she told in a Q&A how Geoff abused Elaine, forcing her to flee and leave the baby Tim in his care.

Paula said: “She didn’t exist as far as Tim was concerned.

“He doesn’t know who she is then he doesn’t believe her. It’s very tough. It’s shocking.”

This is truly one of Corrie’s best storylines in years.

Bizbit

PEAKY Blinders’ Joe Cole will star in I Don’t Want To Talk About This, part of ITV’s Unsaid Stories run of short films inspired by Black Lives Matter.

Adelayo Adelayo, Yasmin Monet Prince and Nicole Lecky feature too.

Tricksy Lott

I’VE got a Lott of love for the faces Pixie pulls on the box.

The Voice Kids judge made her feelings clear as she sized up the gifted youngsters in the latest round of the ITV singing contest . . .  and she needn’t have said a word.
