Teen dumped by girlfriend after ‘quiet drink with pal’ turns into pair jumping on one-way flight to Ibiza
A TEEN was dumped by his furious girlfriend after a "quiet drink" with his best pal turned into the pair jumping on a one-way flight to Ibiza.
Brad Duff met up with Reece Lornie for a few beers at home on a Sunday night - but six hours later found themselves at the Ibiza Rocks hotel.
The 19-year-old plumbers from Dundee looked up flights online while chatting and could not resist jetting 1,700 miles on a £150-each one-way ticket to the party island.
But the trip to paradise did not go entirely as planned when Brad's furious girlfriend dumped him after being sent a smug selfie.
Reece said: "We're having a great time. We've been to Ocean Beach every day since Monday, just chilling there. We have spent a fortune there so far.
"We're just enjoying the 34-degree weather, it feels like liberation after lockdown.
"Brad came to mine on Sunday and we were having a couple of drinks. I've no idea how we got on to talk about holidays but we ended up on the internet and found a good deal to get to Ibiza.
"We bought a one-way flight out here and six hours later we were here. We were just sitting in mine having a drink and next thing you know we're in Ibiza.
"Brad's girlfriend has left him because of this, she went mental at him.
"Obviously she didn't know we were coming out here because we didn't and then she woke up on Monday morning with a photo from us saying we were in Ibiza."
'GOD KNOWS WHEN WE'LL BE HOME'
After getting a lift to Edinburgh airport from a pal, the duo jumped on their 6am KLM flight and stopped over in Amsterdam before landing on the Spanish party island.
Despite being best mates, the two lads had never been on holiday together before or visited Ibiza, but are making the most of the 34C weather before booking flights home.
Reece said his parents took the news much better than Brad's girlfriend, and although initially surprised were okay with the impromptu plan.
Reece said: "When I told my mum and dad they didn't think it was real, they just thought I was joking. They're okay with it now though.
"God knows when we'll be home. We need to get a return sorted soon though because I've got work.
"I rang my boss the next day and told him what had happened. He was alright about it, he just said 'you only live once'."

It is not the first time the party island lured in boozy lads.
Last year two sozzled mates went for a "quiet pint" in Cleethorpes - but ended up partying for 27 hours in Ibiza.
They arrived on the island with just the clothes on their backs, their passports and a bumbag.
