David Cameron to keep summer holiday destination secret over fears The Sun will snap his podgy belly
Prime Minister is trying to lose weight before hitting the beach to avoid any embarrassing pictures
David Cameron confessed he was trying to lose weight before his summer holidays, but would not reveal where he was off to for fear of The Sun snapping his flabby tummy.
Grabbing his stomach while speaking to easyJet staff, the PM quipped: “For some reason the press like pictures of this a lot.”
In 2013 a sunburnt Mr Cameron was photographed with his shirt off on a beach in Cornwall, prompting widespread mockery of his ample paunch.
Mr Cameron said he planned to keep his holiday plans “secret until the last minute” in order to avoid any further embarrassing snaps.
Speaking at the Luton Airport HQ of low-cost airline, Mr Cameron claimed: “I am a proud easyJet passenger.”
“You’ve flown me actually all over Europe - Portugal, Majorca, France, Spain - and almost always on time, although I have to admit I’m not always on time,” he added.
“Actually as I drove in here this morning I remembered once when I missed a flight altogether and had a lovely night in the Ibis Hotel on the way into the airport.
“So I’ve let you down more often than you’ve let me down.”
Last August Mr Cameron was caught on camera scoffing a tube of paprika Pringles on an easyJet to Portugal.
Twitter users laughed after a fellow passenger shared a video of the PM munching on the £1.80 zesty snack.
In March Mr Cameron flew easyJet for an Easter break to Lanzarote, again he was mocked after being spotted wearing £300 Beats headphones on the budget flight.
