Is this Britain’s most inconsiderate driver? Selfish motorist caught parked across FOUR disabled bays
Careless couple abandon their car in front of stunned onlookers and go for meal in fast-food restaurant
This thoughtless motorist has been branded "Britain's most inconsiderate driver" after parking his car across FOUR disabled bays in McDonald's car park in Coventry on Saturday afternoon.
Dad-of-one Ashley Brownsword, 33, took shocking pictures of the grey Vauxhall Astra carelessly strewn across the spaces and said he could not believe his eyes.
Stunned onlookers watched the unidentified man and his girlfriend going into the fast-food restaurant at the Alvis Retail Park on Holyhead Road, near the city centre, for a meal while their car was left occupying four of the six disabled bays.
Ashley, a scrap yard manager from Kenilworth, Warks, said: "I pulled in to the McDonald's because my young lad needed to use the loo.
"But I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this bloke parked across four disabled bays, it was just so blatant.
"I just thought 'what an absolute idiot.'
"It was 5pm, so a busy period for the restaurant and if anybody disabled wanted to use the spots they couldn't."
The shocked dad left the restaurant after around 10 minutes but the obstructing vehicle was still there.
He said: "We weren't there for too long but they were still there when we left after about 10 minutes or so.
"I couldn't believe somebody could be that inconsiderate. it was bang out of order.
"There were plenty of other spaces they could have used but they just could not be bothered to park properly.
"I was absolutely appalled."
Ashley uploaded the photographs he took to the Facebook page "Spotted: Coventry City" in a bid to shame the selfish driver.
The images have been viewed and shared hundreds of times with local residents expressing their outrage.
'Billy CCFC Lyons' said: "This has got to be the most inconsiderate driver in Britain."
Patricia Swindley wrote: "Hope to God some of you never have a disabled parent or loved one who needs a disabled space and you have to watch them struggle cause some thoughtless idiot who doesn't need one has parked in a disabled space. What an awful country we live in when people just don't care."
Ben Gough added to the comments: "What a tool" while Courtney Jade simply expressed it was "Despicable."
