HORRIFYING CCTV footage has emerged showing a thug battering a passer-by to the ground before repeatedly kicking him in the head.

A man is seen jogging up behind another man and landing a powerful blow on the back of his head - knocking his target over.

As the victim falls to the floor, the thug kicks him twice in the head at full force.

The suspect then turns around and jogs off casually, leaving his victim lying unconscious on the pavement.

A black taxi and another vehicle are seen driving past the scene in Harrow, north west London, as the attack happens.

It is recorded as taking place at 01.11am on Sunday, February 21.

Police have released the footage in a bid to track down the attacker.

 

Detectives from Barnet Borough are hoping to speak to the suspect after releasing the footage.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police said: "On Sunday, 21 February, police were called at around 01:30hrs to a report of an assault outside the Sudbury Hill Post Office on Greenford Road in Harrow.

"The assault was reported to have occurred at some point between 01:10 and 01:30hrs that morning. The victim, who is in his late 20s, sustained a broken nose and left arm."

Cops describe the suspect as "a white man, aged in his early 20s, of large build, with short dark hair".

He was wearing a hooded jacket, light blue jeans and white trainers.

Police are keen for anyone who recognises the man or who witnessed the assault to come forward.
