Tour of the Roses: Queen beams as she leads royal outing to Chelsea Flower Show
It is the first time Kate and Wills have attended the show
THE Queen beamed yesterday as she led a royal outing to the Chelsea Flower Show.
The 90-year-old monarch toured displays at a spectacular gala preview, accompanied by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.
At one point, she was snapped beside a floral exhibit which featured her own face.
Meanwhile Duchess Kate and Prince William looked fascinated as they viewed the Rossano Charlotte chrysanthemum, named after their daughter.
Others at the preview were Prince Andrew, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and Princess Anne plus TV’s Alan Titchmarsh and comic David Walliams with mum Kathleen.
Among the show’s attractions was The Sun Flower Square, featuring four front lawn-sized gardens and including a host of plants grown by schoolchildren.
Sun gardening expert Peter Seabrook said: “We’ve had 110 nurserymen, schools, colleges and apprentices growing things.
“I hope Sun readers will get inspiration from it.
“It shows what you can do with your average front garden.”
Some 160,000 people are expected to flock to the London show this week.
