Footie paedo's £600k moan

Disgraced Adam Johnson scrambling to save £600,000 nest egg after ‘moaning he could not file books due to sex court case’

Footie paedophile should have sent paperwork for his promotions company to Companies House in February

FOOTIE paedo Adam Johnson is scrambling to save a £600,000 nest egg – after moaning he couldn’t file his books due to his sex charge court case.

His firm was weeks away from being struck off and a small fortune in cash and assets handed over to the government if he didn’t file his accounts.

The paperwork should have been sent to Companies House in February.
Government officials had written to the firm’s directors telling them they were preparing to strike off the

firm in July and give the assets to the public purse.

But the company has been given a stay of execution after the company appealed against the strike off and asked for more time.

A source said: “They have been given more time to get the books sorted.
“The firm argued that the court case was an exceptional circumstance which meant they couldn’t devote their time to sorting out the firm’s books.”

Accounts filed in February of last year revealed that Adam Johnson Promotions Ltd had £657,890 in cash and stocks and share.

Johnson, 28, earned £60,000-a-week as a winger for Premier League side Sunderland.

But he was sacked after admitted child sex crimes and is now serving a six year jail term in Moorland prison, near Doncaster.

And in there is millions are no use to him.

Prisoners are allowed to spend no more than £25.50-a-week on treats like sweets, extra food items and toiletries.

And at the moment the former England winger has to budget carefully because he can only spend £15.50 as he is classed as a standard prisoner.

This will rise by a tenner when he’s proved he can behave behind bars and his status is upgraded to enhanced.

Last night a source revealed: “Life is very tough for him. He has gone from having the best of everything to having to budget over whether he can afford a bar of chocolate.”

Johnson will have to take out a £1-a-week for a TV in his cell and cash for phone calls.

Inmates also get one free stamp and prison-issue soap and toothpaste.

But most inmates choose to buy their own toiletries because the jail products are of such low quality.

They also choose treats from a canteen list that includes crisps, chocolate, tobacco products, as well as

other food items like tins of tuna and cooked meats that inmates use to supplement their diet.

Johnson was convicted of one charge of sexual activity with a child in March after meeting a 15-year-old girl in his car.

The sex-obsessed football ace initially vowed to fight the claims but sensationally changed his plea and was later found guilty of more severe offences.

When police raided his home they found a huge stash of porn, including bestiality videos.

The 28-year-old Sunderland and England winger is also believed to have contracted two sexually

transmitted diseases from various affairs.

During the trial he was dumped in the dock by his girlfriend Stacey Flounders, who is mother to their daughter Ayla.

Johnson moved prisons to be closer to his one-year-old girl but we revealed last week he had had been

banned from talking to Ayla after they chatted on the phone.

Johnson’s sister Faye has campaigned tirelessly to clear Johnson’s name, running a Facebook page

defending her brother.

She gained the support of Katie Price in her quest to win him an appeal and also sent a “good luck” message to Ched Evans after his appeal against a rape conviction was upheld.

Last month ex-England midfielder Johnson was reportedly beaten up by another lag – in a row over dirty showers.
