Holidays back on as Gov confirms it will drop 14-day quarantine & replace with air bridges
HOLIDAYS will be back on within days as the Government confirmed today it would ditch the 14-day blanket quarantine rules for everyone coming into the country.
In a written statement Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said that the Government will "shortly begin to ease the health measures at the UK border" which will allow passengers to be "exempted from self isolation requirements".

The Government will outline later this week which countries will be on the safe list, meaning people won't have to stay home for 14 days when they arrive in the UK.
The air bridges - also known as travel corridors - will be set up with other countries with lower levels of infection.
The rules will apply to anyone coming in via plane, rail or boat.
A traffic light system will be set up to show people whether the place they are returning from is safe enough they don't have to isolate.
People coming back from green or amber countries will be exempt.
However, anyone coming in from a 'red' alert country will still have to quarantine.
The travel advice is also being looked at again, and it's expected the Government will lift advice telling Brits not to travel abroad unless essential.
The news comes as it was revealed that foreign holidays have had their prices slashed to try and lure people to go away this year.
The average price of a foreign holiday is 40% cheaper this summer – from £177pp in Spain and £201pp in Greece.
According to the holiday comparison site Travel Supermarket, customers are being offered more for their money, more stars and an increased board type.
When Sun Online Travel looked, we found holidays , flying based on a family of four sharing.
However, Greece has just announced that it is extending a ban on UK flights until July 15 because of the high number of coronavirus cases.
However, it's not yet known the exact date when Brits will be allowed to go on holiday.
The public have been told not to rush into booking holidays as Priti Patel warned air bridge deals "won't happen overnight".
The Home Secretary said it will “take time” to finalise agreements with other countries on quarantine-free travel.
It had been hoped that Brits would then be able to jet off as early as July 6.
But this hasn't yet been confimed.
Ministers are set to reveal more details on the scheme later this week.

Sunseekers hunting the web for a cheap deal have been warned to put the brakes on until the plans are announced.
Ms Patel told Sky News: "These measures won’t come in overnight. They will take time because some of this will be down to negotiation [and] discussion with certain countries.”
