Donald Trump claims he could have ‘nailed’ Princess Di but denies stalking Royal
Republican White House front-runner claims he didn’t want to date Prince Charles’ ex wife
DONALD Trump yesterday denied ever being romantically interested in Princess Diana — after a tape emerged of him saying he could have “nailed” her.
The Republican White House front-runner, 69, was asked by US “shock jock” Howard Stern months after she died in 1997: “You could’ve gotten with Lady Di?’ You could’ve nailed her?”
Billionaire Trump replied: “I think I could have.”
The billionaire was accused of becoming infatuated with the royal after split with Prince Charles and believing he had a chance of becoming her boyfriend. He said she “was crazy” but he “could have slept with her” anyway.
He claimed: “She had the height, she had the beauty, she had the skin.”
Trump also bragged that she had written to him to thank him for a “favour” but refused to say what that was.
Yesterday he denied he had any romantic interest in her and said: “It was so false. I liked her.
“I met her in New York once standing on the line and we were all shaking hands and that was the only time I ever met her.
“I did respect her but no interest from that standpoint. But I did meet her once and I thought she was lovely.”
But TV presenter Selina Scott previously told how the businessman pursued the Princess of Wales to the point of “stalking” in the mistaken belief he “had a shot” with her.
But Miss Scott, 67, who has a long-running feud with Mr Trump, claimed he actually gave Diana “the creeps”.
She said: “He bombarded Diana at Kensington Palace with massive bouquets, each worth hundreds of pounds.
“Trump clearly saw Diana as the ultimate trophy wife.
“As the roses and orchids piled up at her apartment she became increasingly concerned about what she should do. It had begun to feel as if Trump was stalking her.”
“When she died in the tragic accident in Paris in 1997 Trump told friends his biggest regret was that they hadn’t dated.”
Meanwhile London’s new Muslim Mayor Sadiq Khan invited Trump to meet his family after the presidential hopeful said he would ban Muslims from the US.
