A GROUP of homeless people were targeted by a sick masked attacker who hurled Molotov cocktails at them as they slept.
Horrifying CCTV footage has been released which shows the victims sleeping at a homeless shelter in Sydney.
They were staying at Woollomooloo’s Tom Uren Place when they were brutally attacked twice in February.
The separate attacks happened on 18 and 19 February.
Police were initially called to the scene at 11pm after the assailant started to hurl the explosives at the sleeping men.
The same person returned to the homeless shelter just after 1pm the next day to throw another Molotov Cocktail.
No one was hurt.
The shocking CCTV footage shows a handful of homeless people sleeping on the floor.
But the dark scene is lit up when the first explosive is thrown at the homeless people.
When the Molotov Cocktail hits the ground, the flames ignite and blaze beside their intended victims.
A man has to jump out of the way as the raging fire catches on his bedding.
As the flames start to die down, one person gets up and watches the explosive fizzle out.
The attacker ran from the scene after throwing his explosives.
Police are hunting the vicious attacker and are still looking to identify the sick person, as they was wearing a mask.
New South Wales Police said: "Officers were responding to reports of two lit Molotov cocktails being thrown by a person wearing a mask.
"A third lit Molotov cocktail was thrown in the same area about 1.10pm the following day. Fortunately no one was hurt during either of these incidents."
