Summer will be a total washout with miserable wet weeks of floods, storms, torrential downpours and even hail
Brits searching for guaranteed sun told to head Spain, Italy, the Balkans or Ukraine. But avoid storm-plagued France and Germany
WEATHER experts are warning Brits this summer will be dogged by flooding, thunder storms, hail and heavy rain.
Days after the UK basked in sweltering 27C temperatures, experts say June, July and August are looking doomed.
Atlantic depressions will kill off any warmth and batter the UK with violent storms, downpours and even hail for months.
Weather experts advise those looking for guaranteed sun to head to Europe - in particular the Costas, Italy and the Balkans.
After a wet start to 2016, the unsettled weather will continue into summer
Tyler Roys, AccuWeather
Tyler Roys, meteorologist for AccuWeather, said: "After a wet start to 2016, the unsettled weather will continue into summer.
"This means there could be enhanced localised flooding, especially in areas that are trying to still clean up from the floods in early winter."
The warning comes just a day after the UK's mini-heatwave was ruined by heavy rain. The downpours led to flooding across the country, including in south east London yesterday.
But it's good news for Brits heading to Europe for their summer holidays.
A dry, hot summer is predicted for Italy and the Balkans with long stretches of heatwaves on the horizon.
Superb weather will start in southern Italy and the southern Balkans, notably Greece, and will travel north throughout July and August.
Northern Italy, Romania, Moldova, Hungary and Slovakia will enjoy sunny weather in July with the hottest days of summer occurring in August across Ukraine and Belarus.
But bad weather will also hit France, Germany, Poland and the Baltic states as they expect a washout summer too.
Thunderstorms and heavy rain are predicted with the occasional warm spell.
And flash flooding threatens eastern France, southern Germany and western Czech Republic due to slow-moving thunderstorms.
