Three of the journalists were wounded, although local media said they were not badly hurt.

One man received shot wounds to his head and back but his coat reportedly saved him from more serious injuries.

The other two injured journalists both suffered broken noses, suggesting they were injured in the fighting rather than in the shooting.

The journalists scattered and fled when the shooting started. Their attackers then ran back to their car and sped off.

The thugs were quickly apprehended and arrested by local cops, however. The man wioth the gun is said to be a 26-year-old man.

The conflict was sparked as the news team, from Ukraine's Channel 7, was covering a road accident that happened outside their offices.

Police are still investigating the case but it is expected that charges will be pressed against all three attackers. The man with the gun is likely to face a lengthy jail sentence if convicted.
