Woman accusing ex-Sunderland player of rape filmed in bed with two other Premier League stars on the eve of his trial
England player and Switzerland international in footage shown to jury
A WOMAN who claims she was raped by an ex-Sunderland footie ace was filmed in bed with two Newcastle United players on the eve of the trial, a court was told today.
She watched as videos of her and England U-20 player Rolando Aarons, 20, and Swiss international Kevin Mbabu, 21, were played to the jury.
The short clips show the alleged victim in bed with a balaclava-clad Aarons on Saturday - less than 36 hours before ex-Black Cat Cabral, 27, went on trial accused of raping her.
In another tape she is seen earlier with her arms around Mbabu at a club taking selfies and videos. She is seen laughing and joking and Mbabu kissing her.
She insisted she had not had sexual relationships with them and said they were just friends - adding: "Nothing sexual whatever happened with these two people."
The footage was played to the jury at Hull Crown Court.
The woman said she was in bed with Mbabu, his girlfriend and Aarons after a night out in Newcastle on Saturday.
Kitty Taylor, defending, asked her: "What on earth were you thinking preparing for this trial and ending up in bed with two professional footballers in exactly the same circumstances you say happened with Mr Varela when you were raped?"
She fought back tears as she told Hull Crown Court: "I didn't class them as footballers. I was in bed with my best friend and her boyfriend and Rolando.
"Rolando came in from his night out with a girl he took into his bedroom. He came into the bedroom (where we were) and said he had a girl in his room.
"I said you shouldn't be doing that because you have a girlfriend."
Miss Taylor accused the girl of trying to get rich by accusing a footballer of rape - hoping for compensation.
She replied: "If I wanted the momey I would have taken it off Mr Varela.
"I would have taken it from his friend when he has offered it to me on three separate times.
"His friend came over to me three separate times and said do you want money, is that what you want?
"I said I didn't want any money. I want to see this man go to jail for what he has done to me."
Aarons and Mbabu are teammates at Newscastle United.
The woman was also asked about her relationships with other Newcastle footballers including Nile Ranger, Ivan Toney, Michael Hoganson, and Kazenga LuaLua.
She admitted dating LuaLua for a number of years but denied having a sexual relationship with the other players.
The woman claims midfielder Cabral, 27, pinned her down on his bed after inviting her and two of her pals back to his rented flat after meeting in a nightclub.
The woman, 23, said she sat on his bed as he rummaged through a bag looking for a pair of socks for her to put on after she complained of being cold.
Moments later she says he pushed her back, grabbed a condom from a side table and twice raped her.
She said she was so shocked she did not scream. The woman, who cannot be named, told the jury: "I was just asking him to get off.
"I didn't know what to do. I was all worked up and shocked.
"I remember being in the bedroom and thinking they (my friends) are never going to be able to hear me.
"I was saying get off us and pushing him away. I was trying to shout for my friend and my voice was going.
"I knew she wouldn't be able to hear me."
She wept: "I wouldn't make it up. It did happen."
The woman said Cabral showed no emotion during the alleged attack. He then left the room and she got a taxi home with friends.
The jury at Hull Crown Court were told how she was introduced to Cabral in the VIP room of Newcastle's Tup Tup Palace during a night out last January.
The player had spent £1,200 on booze including a magnum of vodka before inviting her and her friends back to his flat nearby, the jury were told.
They joined him, former French international Anthony Réveillère, 36, and another man at the property in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear.
The three women immediately went into his bathroom and began taking videos of each other which were later uploaded to Snapchat.
In one clip shown to the jury the trio can be seen laughing and singing as one pretends to wash herself in the shower - revealing her black undies.
The three then emerged and sat together on the sofa beneath a large grey blanket laughing and joking.
Defence lawyer Taylor asked the alleged victim why she needed socks when she was wrapped up under the blanket.
She insisted her feet were 'freezing'.
She later admitted to the court that she squeezed past Cabral and sat on his bed after asking him to find her a pair of socks.
In police interviews she claimed she had followed the former Black Cats star - who left the club last year - into the bedroom.
Cabral, real name Adilson Tavares Varela, denies two counts of rape. He claims the sex was consensual.
The trial continues.
