COPS have released shocking video footage of the moment a woman was sent flying into the air following a horrific hit and run.
The video shows the 25-year-old woman walking across a zebra crossing when she is flung several feet into the air after being struck by a black Ford KA.
Her battered body then lands on the other side of the road.
Detectives at Barking and Dagenham have released the distressing CCTV clip of the horrendous incident in the hope the public will be able to help track down the driver.
Police have been unable to find those responsible for the heinous crime - despite the near deadly hit and run happening two years ago.
Although the KA suffered windscreen damage at the time, cops have since discovered that the car has now been scrapped.
The incident happened on April 14, 2014 at around 6.45pm on a zebra crossing in Siviter Way in Dagenham.
The victim was taken to an east London hospital where she was treated for a fractured collar bone and skull.
As a result of the shameful hit and run the victim has had to undergo two operations and her recovery is still ongoing.
Detective Constable Liz Carrey, from Barking and Dagenham CID, said: "Police have conducted extensive enquiries to trace who was responsible for this collision.
"This has been a life changing experience for the victim; both physically and mentally. The victim was seriously injured and she would like some closure to help her come to terms with the incident.
"We know the car has been scrapped, but someone may have seen it damaged or the driver of the car may even have spoken about what happened. I would ask anyone who has information to search their conscience and contact police."
Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call DC Carrey on 020 3276 1047 or via 101 quoting reference 5106099/14. Alternatively, to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
A 39-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were summonsed to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court in November 2014. They have since been told that the hearing was set aside and await further instruction.
