Schoolgirl, seven, died from ‘multiple injuries’ after the bouncy castle she was playing on blew away in high winds

THE tragic death of Summer Grant was caused my multiple injuries after the bouncy castle she was playing in blew away, a coroner confirmed today.
Seven-year-old Summer was blown away at a funfair in Harlow Town Park, Essex, by high winds on March 26.
Paramedics treated her at the scene but their efforts were sadly in vain.
At the opening of the inquest into her death, Chelmsford Coroner’s Court was told that Summer was at the funfair with her father Lee Grant.
Coroner’s officer Nicholas Hale said: “Summer was on a bouncy castle when it appeared some high winds got up and lifted it up with her on it and blew it some distance away.”
Further results are awaited from the inquest, and Essex Police and the Health and Safety Executive are carrying out investigations.
Essex senior coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray described the incident as a “really terrible tragedy.”
No family members were present at court for the hearing.
A 24-year-old woman and 27-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter by gross negligence and bailed.
