When will spas and massage parlours reopen?

Spas and massage parlours are reopening today [April 12] following the Prime Minister's announcement about the easing of lockdown restrictions.

Rules are expected to remain in place to ensure trips to spas and massage parlours are as safe as possible.

Equipment will have to be thoroughly cleaned between each customer.

And time slots will be used to ensure that the parlour does not reach full capacity.

From May 17, spas will be able to reopen their sauna and steam room facilities.

When the third national lockdown was introduced on January 4, all personal care facilities were forced to close.

This meant hairdressers, barbers, nail salons, tattoo parlours and massage parlours were forced to shut their doors.

The services were also prohibited from being provided in people's homes.

Along with spas and massage parlours, all other non-essential businesses are allowed to open from April 12.

This includes all non-essential retail, pubs and gyms.

Shops, hairdressers and gyms are among the businesses that will reopen on December 2 once the England lockdown ends
