Couple transform derelict turkey barn into £2.5m superhome with hot tub and six-car garage
A COUPLE transformed a derelict turkey barn into a £2.5m superhome with a hot tub and six-car garage.
Copperkins Barn sits on nine acres of land in Buckinghamshire and has five bedrooms and four bathrooms and the luxury home's new owner will also get a cedar-wood hot tub as well as a bespoke designer kitchen.
The property has a separate building with guest accommodation and office space as well as a six-car garage.
The current owners bought the property six years ago after it had already been converted from being a farm building which housed turkeys.
Interior designer and owner Charles Wilson said: "Sadly, we never saw it before the initial conversion so we never knew how many turkeys lived here.
"We moved here from Highgate in London and before us the house was owned by a couple. We liked it but decided to make some changes to personalise it for our family."
The couple fitted a 'more rustic' kitchen as well as cedar-wood hot tub.
Mr Wilson, who is moving with his wife for their children's education, added: "In a way, if we could somehow lift this house up and take it with us to the new location we would, because it's our dream home.
"I think it would suit another family as it's a superb house for entertaining."

Simon Stone, of the Unique Property Company which is handling the sale, said the house was convenient for the commuter train to London from Amersham, as well as local schools.
He added it would be a "fabulous" choice for a family.
He said: "It’s the sort of house where you can escape from each other; one person being in a quiet part, whilst everyone else enjoys themselves in another part of the house. And the garden space is huge."
