MEGHAN Markle believes she was 'destined' to return to the United States to help fight racism - and she's considering a future in politics, a close friend has revealed.
The insider said the Duchess of Sussex feels her work as a leader is "more important than ever right now", and her relocation to America was "fate".
They told the : "Meghan said her work as a leader is more important than ever right now and that she’s been speaking with Oprah and other community leaders on how she can be part of the solution.
"Meghan feels like her mission goes far beyond acting.
"She said she wants to use her voice for change and hasn’t ruled out a career in politics."
Meghan quit her royal duties with husband Prince Harry earlier this year and relocated to LA in March.
She has championed social issues for years, most recently .
The unarmed black man died in police custody in Minneapolis, Minnesota, last week after a cop was filmed kneeling on his neck during his arrest.
The tragedy sparked widespread outrage and protests which have spread across the US, the UK and the rest of the world.
In a video message to fans, Meghan said: “I wasn’t sure what I could say to you.
'SHE WANTS TO USE HER VOICE FOR CHANGE'
"I wanted to say the right thing and I was really nervous that it would get picked apart.
“And I realised the only wrong thing to say is to say nothing.”
It's understood that both Meghan and Harry are in talks with people linked to the Black Lives Matter movement to 'educate themselves'.
Recently, the Duchess also gave a heartfelt graduation address to pupils at her childhood school about the importance of speaking up.
But the couple suffered a setback in their plans to launch their own charity this week.
The Sun exclusively revealed that their Archewell trademark application was rejected.
The former royals didn't sign the application, it was "too vague" and they didn't pay all the fees required, it was reported.
The couple in April and said they "look forward" to getting back to work after stepping down from royal life in January and ditching their Sussex Royal brand.
Meghan has also stepped back from her relationship with former best friend Jessica Mulroney.
Since the royal wedding, Mulroney has appeared on Good Morning America and her own reality show I Do, Redo.
But she has since been dropped from both shows following her racially charged clash with lifestyle blogger Sasha Exeter.
