The Empire strikes back for good: Gary Barlow nabs cameo as stormtrooper in new Star Wars movie
The Take-That singer is a huge fan of the series
GARY Barlow has bagged a secret role as a stormtrooper in the new Star Wars
movie.
The Take That singer, 45, secretly filmed his cameo at Pinewood Studios,
Bucks, last week.
Princes William and Harry nabbed similar parts when they were given a tour of
the sci-fi set last month as part of an official royal visit.
A source said: “Gary is a huge Star Wars fan so this is a dream come true.
“The process has been kept top secret, as he doesn’t want anybody to find out.
“His connections in the film industry got him the part.”
Star Wars VIII, which has yet to be given an official title, is due to be
released next year.
Filming is taking place both at Pinewood and on location.
It is tipped to repeat the success of The Force Awakens, which raked in
£1.5billlion at the global box office.
The 2015 movie, which saw Harrison Ford make his comeback as Han Solo, also
featured a famous name as a mystery soldier.
James Bond star Daniel Craig was listed as stormtrooper JB-007 in the end
credits.
A spokesman for Gary refused to comment on the new film role.
