Chilean burglary gangs flying to Britain to target rich Cheshire towns where Premier League stars live
BURGLARY gangs are flying to the UK to target wealthy towns in Cheshire popular with Premier League stars.
Chilean crooks have taken jewellery, designer watches, handbags and clothes in high-value raids.
They pack the booty in boxes and post it home to South America after the breaks-ins in Cheshire’s “Golden Triangle”, which includes Wilmslow, Alderley Edge and Prestbury.
It is home to Liverpool’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Man City’s Kyle Walker and Man United’s Marcus Rashford among others.
At least eight burglaries were recorded in the area before lockdown by crooks previously linked to big-money raids in London and the South East.
The gangs use a local contact who supplies them with a car.
Amanda Blakeman, deputy chief constable for the National Police Chiefs’ Council, said: “Criminals have travelled from abroad with the intention of targeting high-value properties in the UK.

“This particular crime is typically carried out by organised gangs who have researched their targets in advance.”
Police were working with border forces, immigration and police overseas to combat the “burglary tourism”.
Three Chileans, aged 23, 24, and 42, face court on Monday after admitting three raids in the Golden Triangle, where homes average £1.5million.
