Meghan Markle ‘was convinced there was a conspiracy against her’ and ‘felt like an outsider to Royals’, friend claims
MEGHAN Markle was convinced there was a conspiracy against her and "felt like an outsider" to the Royals, a friend has claimed today.
The pal also claimed the Duchess of Sussex wasn't used to life as a royal and "wanted out" of the Firm soon after marrying Prince Harry.
The anonymous friend told the Sunday Times Magazine that the former US actress had struggled with her new life away from pals.
They said: "She was convinced there was a conspiracy against her and so she basically put herself in self isolation when they moved to Frogmore.
"I think she felt like an outsider from the start. This wasn’t the life she was used to and she wanted out."
Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, announced they were dramatically quitting the royal family a year after they got married.
They then moved to Canada before shifting to LA just before the coronavirus lockdown.
The couple and their one-year-old son Archie are believed to be staying at producer Tyler Perry’s £15million home in LA.
But since the move, reports have emerged that Prince Harry has been struggling with his new life.
Earlier this month, a source told Vanity Fair Prince Harry is feeling "rudderless" and "misses structure" as he "doesn’t have friends or job" in LA.
After announcing their decision to step down as senior royals in January, Prince Harry was stripped of his military appointments and no longer represents the Queen on public tours.
The friend told the Times: "It’s not been easy for Harry. He had a much more established life in England and he doesn’t really know anyone in LA. I imagine he might be feeling a bit of what she felt over in the UK—lonely and directionless."
NEW DIRECTION
Since their move to LA, Harry and Meghan spent Easter delivering meals for those too ill to cook for themselves and helped to provide 250,000 meals for struggling Brits during lockdown with their £90,000 wedding donation.
The couple recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary - spending the day together and refusing all work calls.
They also shared a glimpse into their new life with Harry filming as Meghan read a book to baby Archie.
The dad could be heard quacking as Meghan cuddled their little son.
Meghan and Harry are the subject of a highly anticipated book, due for publication in August, which its authors have said they want to be a "definitive story" about the couple.
The biography, Finding Freedom, will reportedly claim that it was Harry's decision to quit the Royal Family.
A large section of the biography will be dedicated to “setting the record straight” over Megxit.
Contrary to reports, the book - published worldwide on August 11 - will not be detailing the 38-year-old former Suits star’s ongoing fallout with her dad Thomas.
