When is Nicola Sturgeon’s coronavirus update today?
NICOLA Sturgeon will update the nation on Covid this afternoon amid soaring case levels.
The First Minister will be speaking in Edinburgh as she updates the country on the latest lockdown restrictions.
Ms Sturgeon last week delayed Scotland's routemap out of lockdown by confirming the country will remain under virus curbs past the end of June.
The Nats leader revealed plans to move the country to Level 0 restrictions on July 19, with face masks and social distancing to be scrapped on August 9.
But the move away from lockdown restrictions over the next few weeks hangs in the balance after Scotland's daily cases - a record high since the start of the pandemic.
Based on current data, Scotland now has four of the six UK Covid hotspots - East Lothian, Dundee, Midlothian and Edinburgh.
The overall number of cases per 100,000 in Scotland is also TWICE that of England.
When is Nicola Sturgeon's lockdown announcement today?
The Covid update is set to take place at 12.15pm this afternoon.
Ms Sturgeon will be joined by National Clinical Director Jason Leitch for today's briefing.
The First Minister will also take questions from the media via video link from St Andrew's House in Edinburgh.
