Prince Harry is ‘rudderless’ and ‘misses structure’ as he ‘doesn’t have friends or job’ in LA, source tells Vanity Fair

PRINCE Harry has been left feeling "rudderless" and "without structure" in his new life in Los Angeles, a source has told Vanity Fair.

The Duke of Sussex, 35, has been stripped of his military appointments and no longer represents the Queen on public tours after stepping back from royal duties earlier this year.

Harry and wife Meghan Markle have moved to LA after initially saying they would relocate to Canada after quitting Britain.

Meghan, 38, has since said she will be working with Disney and narrated the studio's nature documentary series Elephant, which was released earlier this month.

But friends of Harry have he has been missing friends in the UK and left feeling unoccupied as he tries to settles in the US during the coronavirus crisis.

The source said: "He has a lot of friends in the military community in the UK and of course he misses them.

"This is a very strange time for us all, but I think Harry is missing having a structure to his life right now.

"He doesn’t have friends in LA like Meghan and he doesn’t have a job. So at the moment he’s a bit rudderless, but it won’t always be like this, and he knows that."

Harry had to give up his military titles including Captain General of Marines, Hon Air Commandant, Commodore-In-Chief and Youth Ambassador after Megxit.

He is also no longer a patron of the Royal Marines, the Royal Naval Command's Small Ships and Diving nor the Royal Air Force Honington.

The prince has released videos on social media during the coronavirus crisis praising charities he worked with before moving to the US.

On Sunday, he quoted a mantra of Meghan's when praising disadvantaged kids in the UK for "not just surviving, but thriving".

Speaking to the camera, he beamed as he shared a recorded message for youth charity OnSide.

He said: "Hats off to every single one of you for surviving but also for thriving.

"These stories and these challenges, these daily challenges that you guys are coming up against are unbelievable.

"So many people will never understand.

"You guys have the strength to pull through."

The Prince is understood to have been chatting with brother Prince William on the phone as they work to settle tensions between the Sussexes and Cambridges around Megxit.

Harry and Meghan are understood to have been working with two journalists close to the couple on a new biography called Finding Freedom, about their exit from the Royal Family.

The couple have moved into a £15 million mansion in Beverley Hills and recently put up privacy screens after realising hikers could see into the property.

The lavish property is next to a popular hiking trail, which was reopened to the public on Saturday, May 9, following the easing of lockdown restrictions in Los Angeles County.

Meghan and Harry have only been spotted in public a couple of times since their move to LA.

They volunteered for a local charity dropping off food to those who are at a high risk of catching coronavirus - as well as taking their dogs out for a walk.
