She added: "I am beating it and I am going to be going home to Ryan and our children HOPEFULLY in the next couple of days!!

"I no longer need oxygen at rest, only when moving about but I am up and out of bed, have been for a walk with the physiotherapist and I am on the mend.

"It will take a little while to be fully back to normal, I still feel tired and weak but it is all good positive news.

"I’m one of the lucky ones and I truly have such heartbreak for those who have not been as fortunate as myself."

She paid tribute to the staff at Bradford Royal Infirmary who she said had saved her life.

Kelly, of Shipley, West Yorks., added: "I am so SO proud to be part of the NHS, but my story shows that this virus doesn’t discriminate.

"It really can strike anyone at anytime, so PLEASE, STAY HOME, and STAY SAFE."

She developed a cough after a weekend hospital shift last month and was rushed back in an ambulance 24 hours later gasping for breath.
