After eight days with no symptoms, the lawyer was told she could leave her house by April 7.
Episcope only left the house for essentials, and made sure she wore a mask at all times, but decided to be cautious and re-test as she still felt fatigued.
After her doctor sent a vial of her blood to California for a re-test, Episcope found out that she still had the coronavirus.
She told : "My infection was still highly active, and I was highly contagious."
"I’m extremely concerned about the people that I could unknowingly be infecting relying on the information that I was allowed to go outside," she added.
Episcope was then told to self isolate for a further three weeks.
She has also had to purchase a hazmat suit so that she can leave her apartment to have another test.
Speaking of her experience with the virus, she said: "It’s scary.
"I knew it was very life threatening.
"I would kind of explain it like a ping pong ball going through your body.
"You never know what’s going to happen next."
In a Facebook post, Episcope : "30 days of covid and counting. 2 more weeks of quarantine. Then another test and go from there."
A JAMA Network previously researched the possibility of coronavirus returning in recovered patients.
The document concluded that: "These findings suggest that at least a proportion of recovered patients still may be virus carriers."
