Welsh politician caught saying ‘what the f*** is the matter with her?’ in cringeworthy Zoom fail
THIS is the shocking moment a politician was caught swearing about a colleague in a Zoom call in front of stunned ministers.
Vaughan Gething could be heard saying “What the f**k is the matter with her?” while moaning about Cardiff Central Assembly Member Jenny Rathbone.
The blundering Labour politician had accidentally left his microphone on during the virtual Welsh Assembly session on the Zoom video app yesterday.
Shocked colleagues could be seen gaping open-mouthed during the gaffe, while others just nervously laughed.
Mr Gething has since apologised for his behaviour, which took place as Labour politician Ms Rathbone asked questions about the government’s response to coronavirus in Wales.
He tweeted: “I’m obviously embarrassed about my comments at the end of questions today. I’ve sent a message apologising and offered to speak to Jenny Rathbone if she wishes to do so.
“It is an unwelcome distraction at a time of unprecedented challenge.”
‘SHOULD BE SACKED’
The footage shows Mr Gething turning the air blue after ending his own contribution to the meeting – but he forgot to mute his microphone.
Fellow members urged him to stop as Ms Rathbone could be seen getting off her seat and walking off camera.
Some opposition parties have now called for Mr Gething to be sacked over the blunder.
Adam Price, leader of Plaid Cymru, said: “The Health Minister has not only failed over the last month several times, he has failed to acknowledge that he has failed and aggressively attacks even those within his own party who question him.
“He does not have the right attitude, skills or temperament to lead the Government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
“To maintain public confidence the First Minister needs to relieve him of these responsibilities with immediate effect.”
ZOOM FAIL
The Welsh Liberal Democrats added in a statement: “He should not have made those remarks, whether his microphone was muted or not.
“However, we all need to be focusing on what is most important – tackling this deadly pandemic by ensuring we increase testing and give families and businesses the support they need.”
Video streaming app Zoom has landed a string of users in hot water after it gained popularity during coronavirus lockdown.
Earlier this month, trolls gatecrashed a council meeting being broadcast on the app by playing porn and swearing at members of staff.
South Somerset District Council’s planning committee held its first virtual meeting — with the public able to log in and watch proceedings.
But their deliberations were soon plagued by a number of rude interruptions — and at one point audio from a porn film could be heard playing in the background.
And in March, a woman was left red-faced after accidentally filming herself on the toilet during a video conference.
