MODEL and businesswoman Caprice Bourret has today backed The Sun’s £1million Who Cares Wins Appeal.
She put her hand into her own pocket to make a generous donation to help NHS staff.
Caprice, 48, joined stars including Claudia Winkleman, Amanda Holden, Anthony Joshua, Lorraine Kelly and Linda Lusardi — who has herself seen off Covid-19 — to help heroic NHS staff during the pandemic.
Our appeal aims to get health workers vital support, from food and care packages to places to rest as they tirelessly toil to save thousands of lives.
Caprice said: “The Who Cares Wins Appeal is a fantastic idea because of the incredible work our NHS workers and carers are doing. I myself have donated.”
We have teamed up with NHS Charities Together in its Covid-19 Urgent Appeal to get help to the staff who most need it.
To get the ball rolling, we have also thrown in £50,000.
The cash raised will be split between 240 local hospital charities across the country.
It will be used to provide help including: Sleep pods for exhausted teams; food for staff unable to be at home; groceries for workers’ families; care packs and wash bags to stop the bug’s spread; and rest areas for those staff taking breaks during their shift.
Children’s hospitals are using some of the money to order disposable toys so kids can play without passing on the virus.
Trusts including West Herts Hospitals have bought iPads so patients who are not allowed visitors can reach worried loved ones trapped self-isolating at home.
And staff at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham are among those who have received drinks, meals and toiletries.
BRITAIN’s four million NHS staff are on the frontline in the battle against coronavirus.
But while they are helping save lives, who is there to help them?
The Sun has launched an appeal to raise £1MILLION for NHS workers.
The Who Cares Wins Appeal aims to get vital support to staff in their hour of need.
We have teamed up with NHS Charities Together in their urgent Covid-19 Appeal to ensure the money gets to exactly who needs it.
The Sun is donating £50,000 and we would like YOU to help us raise a million pounds, to help THEM.
No matter how little you can spare, please donate today here
Now we are looking for our army of generous readers to donate whatever they can, big or small.
We know these are difficult and uncertain times, as jobs are lost or furloughed and businesses face a financial abyss.
But every donation makes a difference.
And what price can be put on the heroic efforts of NHS staff saving lives every day?
We know you are behind them from the extraordinary turnout for Clap For Carers.
But just as the NHS is going above and beyond for us, this is YOUR chance to give something back.
We hope you will raise £1million as a sign of the nation’s gratitude.
Caprice, who is currently self-isolating in London with her step-daughter Isabella, 12, twin sons Jett and Jax, six, and her banker husband Ty Comfort, 54, said: “There is togetherness like I’ve never seen before.
“I found the clap for the NHS so emotional, everyone coming together with no discrimination or judgment. It’s all just love and support.
“This is a scary time for everyone, my family included, but we are all together and I believe we will come out of this better people.”
EVERY penny you donate to our Who Cares Wins Appeal will go to the NHS Charities Together Covid-19 fund.
This will provide the following:

Echoing our feelings across the nation, Caprice said seeing the work of frontline NHS staff and countless volunteers left her feeling humbled.
That is why she wanted to give something back and show her support.
She said: “We now have an increased awareness of our health, hygiene and environment — and because of this, we have an appreciation like never before for those incredible nurses, doctors and carers and the work they do.
“Their selflessness and dedication is not going unnoticed and I hope they feel really appreciated and supported by us as a nation.”
Businesses and a generous anonymous donor have already given more than £15million to the Covid-19 fund.
But more cash is needed.
And that is why we have launched The Sun’s Who Cares Wins Appeal to benefit NHS Charities Together.
If you are working from home, why not donate a small amount of what you would have spent on petrol or fares getting to work? Or the money you might have spent grabbing a coffee on the way?
You can donate to this amazing and worthy cause on the .
Among the stars behind it is Page 3 legend Linda Lusardi, who fought for her own life from the virus.
