Teen, 19, stabbed to death at BP petrol station in Coventry
AN investigation is ongoing after a teenage boy, 19, was stabbed to death at a petrol station last night.
The victim was found critically injured at a BP garage in Coventry, and was immediately rushed to hospital where he died overnight.
A murder investigation was today underway as the garage in Lockhurst Lane in the Foleshill area was cordoned off for forensic examination.
Two blue tents were erected on the forecourt as forensics teams in white protective suits combed for clues.
The entirety of the garage, which was thought to have been open at the time of the attack, was sealed off with police tape.
No arrests have been made yet.
'SO SAD'
One passer-by today said: “It’s so sad given everything that’s going on at the moment.
“The emergency services have plenty to do already without dealing with knife crime.
“I feel so sorry for the lad’s family.”
Emergency services descended on the scene shortly after 11pm last night.
Paramedics tried to give the victim - who has not been named - life saving treatment at the scene before transporting him to Coventry hospital.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "An ambulance, paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance Critical Care car attended the scene.
“Upon arrival, we found one patient, a man, in a critical condition.
"Staff quickly worked to administer advanced trauma care on scene before taking the patient on blue lights to hospital.
"Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased at hospital.”
West Midlands Police said it was investigating. The force was due to issue a statement this afternoon.
