Dad volunteers to ferry supplies to the vulnerable so NHS doesn’t crumble

THE Sun’s brilliant Helping Hand Heroes are among 405,000 people who have volunteered to aid the beleaguered NHS following Health Secretary Matt Hancock’s plea.

Dad-of-two Shravan Joshi, from Merton, South London, is eager to ferry supplies for hospitals or to deliver essentials to people self-isolating. Shravan, 44, an elected member of the City of London Corporation, said: “We can ensure the NHS doesn’t crumble.”

Primary school worker Angie Kennedy is keen to deliver food and medicines to the vul­nerable, drive patients to appointments and phone the isolated.

Angie, 53, of Waterlooville, Hants, says: “We need to step up to take the pressure off the NHS.”

Physiotherapist Nick Smith, 48, is volunteering at his local hospitals in Cambridge.

The father of two said: “It is my duty to help in a time of national crisis.”
