Elderly locked down in care homes over coronavirus share defiant messages with defiant families


ELDERLY people forced to stay away from families as care homes lock down have posted defiant messages to social media.

Residents of homes across the UK are refusing to let national panic over the coronavirus worry them - and they've taken spirited photos to show their loved ones that they're well.

Her message reads: "I would like to let my family know I am ok and I love you all."

One resident at Cramlington House care home in Northumberland held aloft a message which reads: "Take care everyone. We are safe."

Another lady living in the same property beamed as she shared the note: "Don't worry, I am ok. See you soon."

Earlier this week, six residents living at Highgate Care Home in Uddingston, Scotland tested positive for coronavirus.

Those affected are being monitored closely as measures are being taken to prevent the spread of the virus.

People around the world have been continuing to visit their elderly relatives - while still keeping them safe from the spread of Covid-19.

Carly Boyd, 22, told her grandfather she was engaged through a patio door at his nursing home in the USA.

A man was also captured  chatting to his elderly dad through a care home window during the coronavirus lockdown.
