DEFIANT Brits hit the town for a boozy night out after ALL clubs in Ibiza, Benidorm and Majorca went into coronavirus lockdown.

Revellers made the most of their Friday night despite the news cases of the deadly bug today reached 820 cases in the UK.

Many were pictured laughing and joking while out in Leeds last night - with one grinning lad even giving a pal a piggyback.

Others were seen hugging and smiling across Birmingham and Newcastle as they celebrated the end of a tough week that saw Boris Johnson declare Britain was officially in the "delay" phase to tackle coronavirus.

Only a few revellers wore face masks for the night out in Britain - while party-goers in Ibiza and Majorca were left bereft as pubs and clubs were closed.

The deadly bug is spreading like wildfire through Europe, with Spain rapidly emerging as a major hotspot and Brits warned against all but essential travel to certain areas.

The Balearic Government is ordering the closure of all discos, clubs, pubs, nightclubs, gyms and sports facilities in Majorca and Ibiza in a bid to stop the spread.

And Catalonian authorities announced tonight the entire region, including Brit favourite Barcelona would be placed on lockdown.

Closures for bars and restaurants in resorts like Benidorm and other holiday hotspots along the Costa Blanca, came into effect at midnight last night.

It comes as the Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced the country would formally declare a state of emergency today.

And last night's Friday celebrations in the UK as the country prepares for a potential lockdown as the killer virus rates continued to rise.

Boris Johnson described the outbreak the "worst public health crisis in a generation" and "it will spread further" as he revealed new measures to try.
He told the nation to stay at home if they have a cough, adding: "Many more families are going to lose loved ones before their time."

The PM admitted there would be “severe disruption”, but the Government was ready to adapt to keep people safe."

Overnight, it was revealed a newborn baby had tested positive for coronavirus, making the child the world's youngest victim.

The mum was tested at North Middlesex Hospital but her positive result was known only after the birth.

In the last 24 hours the UK has seen an enormous 35 per cent increase in cases of the deadly virus.

Scotland also saw its first coronavirus death, after an older patient with pre-existing health conditions died.

Yesterday it was announced that football in England was put on hold and all mass gatherings are due to be cancelled.

The 2020 London Marathon was yesterday postponed until October.

Meanwhile cities and towns across Britain appeared deserted at times on Friday Friday 13 as people worked from home and avoided shops and transport links over concerns about the virus.
