EX-ENGLAND football star Daniel Sturridge is suing his former landlords for racial discrimination after finding a child’s Netflix account that was labelled “n****r”.

Sturridge, who rented a mansion of Alan O’Neill and his wife Katie in October 2018 when he was a striker at Liverpool, is seeking damages totalling £100,000.

The 30-year-old, now at the Turkish club Trabzonspor, paid £18,500-a-month for the house in Mere, Cheshire and lived there with girlfriend Jamilla Ferreira.

The landlord said the account belonged to their 11-year-old child who was a fan of rap music.

Documents filed at Manchester county court said Sturridge and Jamilla were “deeply upset”, despite an apology.

Court documents seen by the Times show that the tenants discovered the Netflix account on November 24 and moved out on February 14.

A few days before the discovery, Sturridge had been charged with alleged breaches of FA betting rules, for which he received a £75,000 fine and a six-week ban, four of which were suspended, the following July.

The O’Neills pursued their tenants for outstanding rent up to the end of the agreement by issuing a statutory demand for £67,000 at the county court, which Sturridge paid in July 2019.

Within days he had filed a separate claim for £100,000 for “special damages in respect of the defendants’ discrimination against them and/or harassment of them on the grounds of their race” contrary to the Equality Act.
