Gannon Stauch poses with stepmother Letecia in last known photo of missing Colorado boy
GANNON Stauch smiles alongside his younger sister and stepmother Letecia in the last known photo taken of the 11-year-old Colorado boy.
The photo was taken during a family hike on January 26, one day before Gannon went missing from his Colorado Springs home.
has now been missing for 31 days, but the El Paso County Sheriff's Office has not given up their efforts.
Authorities are also getting plenty of help from the approximately 100 volunteers from around the country who have arrived in to help with the investigation.
There have still not been any suspects or persons of interest named in the case, but that has not stopped many from speculating about what happened to the young boy.
Many suspect Letecia, because she was the last person to see the boy alive.
The stepmother has fired back at these individuals twice now, releasing fiery statements that reveal she has proof that backs up her version of events in the case.
That is partly down to selfies like the one taken during the aforementioned hike.
Letecia said that she would often take these photos to send to her husband, Gannon's father Al Stauch, an Operations Officer with the 100th Missile Defense Brigade who is stationed at Schriever Air Force Base.
She told police that she last saw Gannon as he left their home to go play with a friend around 3:15pm on January 27.
The fact that she let him leave the house confused many due to the fact that Gannon had not attended school that day due to illness.
Letecia , just dealing with stomach issues from his medication that made him anxious about being in class all day.
There was also video released by Roderrick Drayton, a neighbor who claimed that Letecia left the home with Gannon in her truck that morning but returned without the boy.
That neighbor also provided footage from his home surveillance system which seemed to back up this claim, prompting Letecia to issue a statement saying the video was taken from an angle that made it impossible to see the small boy.
Drayton told multiple outlets that Gannon looked "drugged" when he left the home that morning, en route to what Letecia said was an appointment with his doctor.
He also claimed to have later showed this surveillance footage to Gannon's father.
"He just broke down crying and said, 'She lied. She lied about the time,'" Drayton told .
"'He didn’t go to a friend's house.'"
No one saw Gannon that afternoon other than Letecia and an individual whose name and identity has still not been revealed by authorities.
introduced this unknown person for the first time in a statement earlier this month while defending herself against Drayton's allegations.
"Please don’t think for a second that there isn’t enough of technology to determine shadows and movement around the truck. There was also proof from my phone that we had taken a selfie in the truck in our driveway that was time stamped," wrote Letecia.
"We always send pictures to Albert when we are out and about or when he is away. That can be scanned for actual time verification."
She then added: "Last, from day one the Sheriff's office has known a description of the person/friend whom Gannon left with."
