Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘relieved’ at Thomas Markle’s new lover and hope she will ‘stop him giving interviews’

MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry hope Thomas Markle's new girlfriend will prevent him from giving interviews and that he'll "fade away", it has been claimed today.

The 75-year-old has been dating an American mum-of-two who lives near his Rosarito neighbourhood in Mexico.

And sources close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex say the pair hope it will finally put an end to his constant interventions and criticism over the way his daughter and son-in-law live their life.

An insider said: "Part of the problem with Thomas is that he has so much time on his hands.

"He has a lot of time to stew, to think and to get angry. Again and again that has led to him speaking out and giving interviews which have caused a lot of upset, particularly for Megan.

"She hopes now he’s got someone else in his life he will fade away and not bother her. He’s caused enough problems already."

It comes just a day after Thomas, 75, again hit out at the Sussexes, claiming the couple had "insulted" the Queen over the recent Megxit drama.

Speaking to  from near his home in Mexico, Markle blasted: "I'm very upset with Harry and Meghan right now.

"[They] don't have a right to speak to the Queen the way they've spoken to her. I think it's an insult to the Queen and the British people."

And earlier this week he warned he would keep cashing in on interviews - arguing he had been dragged into the situation by his daughter and now needed to support himself.

But now Meghan and Harry are looking forward to a "fresh start" amid reports Thomas has a girlfriend.

The Sun On Sunday this week revealed Thomas had bought flowers for his new partner on Valentine's Day.

The source added: "Meghan and Harry are looking forward to a fresh start and hope that Thomas will give them the opportunity to do that without him interfering or causing any more distress.

"But they know only time will tell. And they are mindful whoever this new girlfriend is could also talk if Thomas decides to pour his heart out to her.

"The danger of Thomas making their lives difficult is never far away."

The source also claimed Thomas' ex and Meghan's mum Doria Ragland would be "delighted" he had found someone new.

They said: "She’s seen first hand the strain his behaviour has caused on Meghan and Harry and is firmly on their side."

Thomas Markle recently insisted he was willing to appear in court if necessary in the legal battle over a letter she wrote to him detailing her heartbreak at their rift.

He also vowed that “everything will come out” should he face Meghan in court.

But he is now busy with locals claiming they have seen Thomas with his new girlfriend on cosy dates.

A neighbour said: “Thomas has been seeing a woman locally for the past few weeks, and they’re regularly making trips back to the States as she has family there.

“He’s stayed with her for a few nights while he’s been getting the plumbing at his place fixed.

“Tom’s a really nice, low-key guy and hasn’t been making a song and dance of things. But he has definitely had a spring in his step.

“A few of us have also been joking that Meghan has a new step-mum!”

The owner of his local restaurant, Chile Taco Shop, added: “Thomas has always come alone, but he’s been bringing his new friend with him for his chicken tacos of late, and now he seems happy whenever he comes in.”

The couple have also been spotted sharing a large family pizza at nearby joint, Fusion 360 Pizza and Sushi.

The woman’s name is not known but last week Thomas was pictured smiling as he bought flowers on Valentine’s Day.

Thomas married Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland in 1979, but separated when the former Suits actress was six-year- old.

Thomas, currently estranged from Meghan in the wake of several public falling-outs, is also said to have got a part-time job at a local film studios.
